  1. And as I stand here alone I spread my arms & touch the sky & feel the horizon. Beautiful minimalism!

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

  2. I love this image.

And it makes me wonder about the life of the tree….

In the 17th century, Molière wrote – “Trees that are slow to grow bear the best fruit.”

This tree doesn’t look (to my untutored eye) like a fruit-bearing tree. But appearances can be deceiving. And somehow, in the gray world it inhabits, it seem to be doing just fine…just bare branches….the essence of tree-ness.

    1. It’s a walnut tree. I liked the muted colours – in real life as well in the photo. Light is interesting at this time of year around here. Often there is much humidity in the air and the light is very soft – hazy towards the horizon.
Walnut trees are quite common in this area. A walnut tree stops growing at the age of 60 to 80 years – so your “untutored eye” saw exactly what it’s all about in the photo ;-) I wonder if Molière was talking about walnut trees.
      Thank you very much.
