This was the only second when there was no bicyle rider and no pedestrian to be seen. Usually on these paths there are wars going on between those two groups ;-)
On bike trails, like everywhere else, I’ve found some politeness goes a long way. When approaching pedestrians a polite, “On your left.” Lets them know you are there and which side you are on. Now if they can tell left from right, everyone is safe, so be prepared to avoid them when they jump directly in front of you.
