All my life I’d been the one looking down on the world
There was a massive silence
What happened to love and harmony, man?
I can’t tell you all my secrets so soon
Everything might get back to the way it was
Little by little, the sounds dwindled and died
Laughter is poison to fear
Stolen heroes and the gods of dead peoples brooded in the darkness beyond the road
Some secrets are safer kept hidden
I trust you no more than I did before
Makes you wonder what lies beyond
He liked the way the air tasted way up high
Everything above is frozen and stiff, but down below it moves along
I know it’s you out there
As usual, there was no sign of life outside
He knew that he would get no answers
When a vacuum forms, something has to come along to fill it
There shouldn’t be any humans here
As soon as he closed the book, he had to come back to the real world
There were funny stories, moving stories, and violent stories
He stops walking and listens
When he hasn’t slept well, he wants only a sugared muffin
He won’t be able to fall back asleep
It’s still dark when the weeping erupts
It seemed as if the whole of the world was slowly being stripped of innocence
Isn’t it funny how we close our eyes and enter a strange world we’ve made up?
All is well
This is the peace at the center of life
Sein Himmel war es, der sich über die Erde wölbte
Let us stroll up a bit farther
And what form does Gravity take, that gives it this astonishing power of streaming through the solid earth?
Once it is before my mind’s eye, I may see it as if it were there, and describe it
I was myself here, able to see things singly and plainly
They are there because they look good
You can’t leave me here on my own
Nothing had ever been weird around here before
He had come expecting to be welcomed
The thump of the drums echoed in his skull
That’s how we progress as a culture
It was love, or felt like it
I was staring wild-eyed back at myself
A poisened silence floated through the rooms like a big fishnet
Buy a bigger boat
On the spot, without introduction
Place was empty when we got here
I raised a hand to my scalp
No one notices, but it is exactly right
By noon, he was gone
