Gone Fishin’
You’re just as anxious about this as I am.
Everyone wanting something for nothing.
It’s down to us to keep going.
They all live happily ever after.
What happens in the end?
We have adventures, of course.
You want to look to the future.
They all seem very nice.
Looking at the stars, she feels impossibly small.
Why didn’t you say anything?
I expect you’ve travelled a long way.
It’s the only sensible response.
And then things started to change.
The winner always writes the history.
None of this was particularly surprising.
Gone Fishin’
And that was how I was going to stay.
There was just no way to say no.
Why do you carry on?
It seems that no one can exactly remember what happened.
Gone fishin’
I have no idea why anyone would want to build a town here.
A fair fight. Fine.
They’re probably all completely insane by now.
Now everybody knows who you really are.
He looked like he hadn’t slept at all.
Anyway it was the only entertainment on offer.
Some facts were immutable, unavoidable.
This was a place in which I was happy.
We were the weak and they were the strong.
This did not go unnoticed.
I think every place has its share of beauty.
We walked home in silence.
All new.
Do others have to lose so we can win?
It was not his place to analyse the motives of monkeys.
Still, it’s quite a jolly place.
It could get on your nerves.
I wonder if they ever get tired?
In truth, there is never a good moment.
I want to make a life that I choose.
I started reading it and could not stop.
Old songs that sang to the old sadness you always kept as close as skin.
No one wants to talk to the guy cleaning up.
Sadness came in the quiet of the street.
It was as if they were moving backward in time.
He now missed how time had seemed to stand still at those moments.
Everyone agreed that it was beautiful.
So what do you think they should do?
