Your colors have a somber intensity to them that pulls me in.
I like the text too. “Don’t just stand there…” But what’s a hydrant to do? Well – “Do something.” Hydrants spray water. Or convey it. And from the looks of the wall behind, with its curious stains, almost worthy of carbon-dating, perhaps there have been floods here – or something else.
But its range of movement is so restricted, what shall it do?
Fizzle?
I love this photograph.

But it’s a great photograph. Period.
Thank you very much!
Perhaps the photographer was talking to herself? ;-)
You’re welcome.
Or…perhaps those were her (the photographer’s) last words, as she stood there, staring at the primeval hydrant….just before it flooded.
‘Don’t just stand there….do something.’
And then, very quietly, almost too quietly to hear, the hydrant may have responded –
“Après moi, le déluge” ….. :-)
Lol … if I ever feel the urge to do some street art I will print stickers that say “Après moi, le deluge” and put them on hydrants!
This is brilliant.
