I love your night work. I would love to say that it’s the RX100 and it’s low light quality, but I think that it’s the fact that you now have a camera with you as you travel at night and are seeing differently.
Yes, without this small camera .. I am sure I wouldn’t have done all this. I use the live view all the time – the bigger one doesn’t have a live view – and this makes it much more easy to take photos at night I think. At least for me. I simply look where the big fat splashes of light are and try to compose the rest of the photo around them. Won’t work with a view finder. And with the EVF not at all. Again: I think.

The road through the next year may be dark and foggy, but there are some lights to to help find the way. Great mood in this picture.
By the way. I will repeat my exhortation to get a monopod. You will love it….and you are now old enough to use one without embarrassement:-D
Pfffft.
And really, I like the charm of these not so sharp photos – I don’t think I would have so much fun with them if they were technically perfect.
