Oddly, I talked to a friend taking a motivational speaking course about this. They were taught, at the start of a presentation, to point upwards and see who looked up. Those that did processed information visually. They pointed down and the who looked down processed information verbally. Not hard to figure where you and I stand.
That’s interesting. Yes, I think I would never look down if a presenter points down, but definitely look up in the other case. Besides, there would be nothing to see down there besides my trousers/knees/shoes .. but many interesting things might be seen at the ceiling ;-)
