    1. For some reasons these non-highspeed-trains and fields and rail tracks and open land speak of a hot summer day to me. Silence. Nothing moving. Air stands still. A train coming.
Might be some memories of my childhood when we played in the fields near the rail tracks all day long.

  1. There is always something romantic and sensuous about trains. They carry us off to exotic places filled with possible romance and adventure. My childhood memories about trains is waiting impatiently for them to arrive so we could start our adventure. Still love traveling by train, but don’t that opportunity much these days. Great photo.

    1. My father worked for the – then – German National Railway so we could travel Europe mostly free of charge. All my childhood vacations were done by train – the longest I remember being to Warsaw. Almost 24 hours. Was the time before high speed trains of course with long delays at the borders with East Germany. I just looked it up, nowadays it’s a 10 to 13 hours journey.

    1. With trains you can feel that you are going somewhere. Unlike with planes. I would always prefer trains to cars or planes in case I have to go some distance. The landscape outside is changing.
