It’s a coloured photo. Sun was going down and in my back. So the sky was relatively dark already and the cherry tree branches only silhouettes. There is a little bit of the typical donut bokeh in there you get with the catadioptric lens. I don’t think it’s disturbing or ugly.
Thank you!
Nice photo, Martina. I like the colors arising from the diffraction of light off the disc. Nicely done, and, as usual, the perfect quote.
Thank you very much. Over at the scrappress I talked a little bit about how this (and some other) photo(s) was taken:

I am not sure if this is common in the US, too – this is – of course – a kind of digital scarecrow ;-)
Another great run of Japanese flag/picture/quote combos. It has been fun watching your eye get better and better. Love the bald guy :-))
Aaaaaah … the bald guy. Reminds me of someone …
;-)
Thank you! Esp. for your always funny as well as supportive comments!
Interesting, a b&w photo with colored diffraction grading. Perhaps it is there to scare away inquisitive photographers? Very well done.

The bokeh in the background works perfectly. Definitely not disturbing but perfect emphasis on the disk in sharp focus.
