It seems I have no choice.
Everything happened quickly after that.
What are you going to do?
Even if you fear it you’re curious to see it.
Maybe when I am older I will be wiser. We’ll see.
I don’t know how you do it.
We were silent for a while.
It gave me a breathless feeling.
She said nothing about that when I saw her.
There had been a notable lack of interesting happenings this summer.
It certainly was inconvenient – there was no doubt of that.
He lapsed into a sombre silence.
So, you see, there’s always hope.
Everybody had a suggestion now.
A sudden realization came upon him that life was real and life was earnest.
I feel very far away sometimes.
‘I was just admiring your place,’ he said.
He was quite willing to stay on here indefinitely.
It was a perfect day, cloudless and still. There was peace in the air.
The situation had the appearance of being at a deadlock.
There was nobody home.
Now everybody pay close attention.
The sun was a hard white point directly overhead.
I know my heart was strangely heavy as I turned away.
I have something to tell you.
But it happened in broad daylight!
Ah! I suppose you can find your way out?
What on earth can I do?
We still believe in getaways.
What is the solution to life?

I think I need to take a walk.
He didn’t want to screw things up.
Difficult to know what had happend.
Everything made sense suddenly.

I’m going to remember that.
Now people were really staring.
Should have got here earlier.
She knew it was time to go home.
He had a full life, a full world.
And it felt right and true.
“I’m free”, he said aloud again, just to hear it.
He didn’t know how to think anymore.
It’s sad. It’s a sad story.
I probably shouldn’t have told you that.
There’s nothing the matter.
Everything’s fine.
This was how it would go.
Don’t look at me.
