Things kept getting in the way
We looked at one another for a minute
It’s a stupid dream, but there it is
Am I a good person or a bad person or just a person?
But it’s also possible that I was losing my mind
We had nothing else to offer each other
Can you just come look at something?
I was by no means innocent
I am not trying to set myself apart
Waiting, I suppose, to feel at peace
I don’t think I could leave this
We make the best choices we can at the time
Funny how fate keeps throwing us together
Gone fishin’
That’s only the beginning
That doesn’t make any sense, though
Let’s think about a vertical light clock moving in a horizontal direction
Even that is not enough for some humans, though
The keeping of accurate time is of great importance to the human civilization
The speed of light in a vacuum is a defined quantity: 299,792,458 m/s exactly
All observers will measure the same speed of light
It’s a nice day ̶̶ there’s no rush
Light moves through empty space with a single speed, no matter what the observer is doing
It’s a lot of space to fill with stuff
There is no such thing as an absolute time
The only force that acts is gravity
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction
Force equals mass times acceleration
No way, dude. Don’t even go there
And the Earth is rotating
I don’t like fiendish illusions
Will you sit down and be quiet?
The universe is a weird and wonderful place
The length of a path between two points depends on what you pass along the way
Maybe I can finally find out what this Einstein guy was all about …
Looking at the problem from a different angle
I have no clue at all about how things work
Most people don’t think in mathematical terms
Just tell me what you want!
They trudged through the rubble of a ruined city
I’ll be there and back again
Guess you’ve seen all of this before
It’s always been serious
What is your life’s work, anyway?
The universe was an unanswered question
Stop thinking your shallow thoughts
Stories were devices for deluding ourselves and others
Why go through all that trouble to make a great story and then give it an ending like that?
You have to be able to tell the story
A silence of no movement and almost no breath
